Tennis at the USC: how does it work?

  • There are 8 tennis courts of which 4 are covered all year through.
  • You can reserve a court with your tennis free play membership in the above timetable. See the reservation rules.
  • You can make a reservation for a 60 minutes time slot at once.
  • You can rent a court permanently or onetime.
  • Tennis courses start 6x a year.
  • Check Padel, a different racket, but as much fun. In Spain it is the biggest sport besides soccer. Padel is a combination of squash and tennis. USC Tennis offers two permanent courts. Check Padel!

Tennis courses

USC Tennis offers a varied course programme. You can enter at any level and keep developing your skills.

USC Tennis courses

  • Courses start 4 times a year.
  • A course consists of 9 classes of 1 hour (9 people on 2 courts).
  • 5 different levels: beginner, 9, 8, 7, and 6/5/4.
  • In July we start an intensive course of 3 weeks, 2 times a week a 1.5 hour class.
  • Choose the course that suits your level of play. If you are not familiar with the Dutch (KNLTB) levels of play please estimate your own level by using the level guide below. In case of doubt, contact USC Tennis for advice.
  • When purchasing a course you get a free (free play) membership off peak hours.

Level guide

  • Beginners
You never (or hardly) played any tennis.
  • Level 9
You are a level 9 player when you have basic knowledge of the different grips, strokes and game situations. In addition, you can keep the ball in the game for several strokes in a moderate speed.
  • Level 8
You are a level 8 player if you can play a controlled rally for more than 10 strokes. You also have sufficient rule and stroke knowledge to play an official single or doubles match.
  • Level 7
You can subscribe for this level if you can show a KNLTB pass with at least one time level 7, or by recommendation of your trainer.
  • Level 6/5/4
Here, too, you need to be able to show your KNLTB pass and have level 6 at least once, or by recommendation of your trainer.

Note: the trainers always keep the right to place someone in a different group if the level differs too much with the level of the group.

Tennis memberships

Depending on the period in which you want to (free) play you can purchase a suitable membership.

  • You find memberships of 3 months, half year and 1 year.
  • You can use the 4 covered courts, the four non-covered courts and the 2 padel courts. Your membership gives you access at times when the courts are not reserved for classes, rentals or club activities.
